ACTION ALERT

Action Alert: MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD | Action Deadline May 15, 2014

In preparation for the 2oth anniversary of Ordinatio Sacerdotalis -- John Paul II's ban on discussion of women' ordination -- Women's Ordination Worldwide is collecting letters from the faithful who support dialogue about women's ordination and the opening of doors to women priests. Women, just like men, are not only created in God's image but are also called to serve all God’s people in all ways, including holy orders.

A delegation of women’s ordination advocates from around the world will, during prayerful vigil hand deliver on May 22, 2014 these letters to the Vatican -- letters from women who are called to priesthood and from all those who stand up for justice in the church.

I commend all of your hard work and efforts in trying to convince Pope Francis to let women become priests. Keep in mind, I'm definitely in favor of women becoming priests and entering the priesthood, unfortunately the Catholic Church is a Patriarchal dominated society which refuses to change. I spent five years, participating in the Catholic Church, even went as far as to attend catechism courses before I realized that I was on a sinking ship, refusing to change course.   Unfortunately, even though the letters to the Pope are a wonderful idea there are more effective ways to go about serving in the priesthood which don't involve a tidal wave of a male dominated populous which veto's women's right to serve in the priesthood.

Finding a church which is more open to allowing women to serve in the priesthood is a better road to travel then getting the door slammed in your face by a predominantly Victorian male society. The reality is that there are other religions within your vicinity which will be open to a women who truly wishes to enter the priesthood and whom will be encouraging.

Best of luck to those women wishing to enter the priesthood.
